The role

What a freelance planner delivers

Tender programmes

Programmes and logistics narratives for bids and pre-construction.

Baselines and updates

Contract programmes, regular updates and look-ahead programmes for site.

Progress reporting

Earned value, progress tracking and clear reports for clients and boards.

Delay and recovery

Impact assessments, recovery programmes and support for extension of time claims.

What to check

Software and contract experience

Ask which planning software the planner uses, such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or Microsoft Project, and check it matches what your client requires.

For NEC contracts, experience producing and updating accepted programmes and assessing compensation events is valuable.
