The role

What a commissioning manager does

Commissioning plan

Sequences testing and commissioning into the programme early.

Coordination

Coordinates specialist contractors, witnesses and the client's team.

Testing and witnessing

Oversees tests, records results and tracks defects to close-out.

Handover

Brings together certificates, O&M information and training for the client.

What to check

Systems and sector experience

Commissioning spans many systems: mechanical and electrical services, controls, life safety systems and industrial process plant. Check the 3lanser's experience matches your systems and sector, such as healthcare, data centres or manufacturing.

Ask how they have managed the interface between construction completion and commissioning on previous projects.

When should a commissioning manager start?

Ideally well before systems are installed, so commissioning is planned into the programme rather than squeezed in at the end.
